iTestGen EDID fix
It is a known issue that iTestGen requires knowledge of an external display before you can display content on it. This is actually a hardware restriction of the iPhone 4. We are investigating workarounds for the problem, but realize that due to Apple’s strict requirements it may be impossible to access the hardware directly (using private API’s) and still have the app approved for the App store.
For now, the only solution is to use an EDID emulator such as the following:
Set this device up using your laptop and place inline between iphone VGA cable and the laptop connection in your installation (table, podium, etc). This will allow you to trick the iPhone into thinking there is a device connected to it, even if your installation uses mini-coax or some other cabling that does not pass EDID information.
